WASHINGTON, D.C. – Monumental Sports & Entertainment will host Team Liquid’s Thomas “72hrs” Mulligan and Noah “Vivid” Wright at MedStar Wizards District Gaming Studio during the Fortnite World Cup Qualifier May 4 through June 15.

Team Liquid’s players will be competing in qualifier events every Saturday and Sunday beginning May 4 in addition to practicing and streaming every Thursday and Friday through June 15 from MSE’s world class esports facility located adjacent to Capital One Arena. Vivid has qualified for the World Cup’s solo competition and the pair will be looking to qualify as a duo.

“Team Liquid has a world class Fornite lineup, and we’re cheering on our athletes to dominate this upcoming World Cup,” said Steve Arhancet, Co-CEO and Owner of Team Liquid. “We can’t think of a better training environment than with our partners and champions at Monumental and their superb facilities at MSE.”

MSE is a co-owner of aXiomatic, which has controlling interest in Team Liquid. In 2018, MSE and aXiomatic invested in Epic games, publisher of Fortnite. MSE also owns and operates NBA 2K League franchise Wizards District Gaming.

Fortnite’s World Cup event features a prize pool of $30 million, the largest in esports history.

“We are thrilled to host Team Liquid as they compete in the Fortnite World Cup Qualifier,” Zach Leonsis, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Monumental Sports & Entertainment, said. “This is a shining example of our partnership and investment in Team Liquid and exemplifies MSE’s overall commitment to esports on a global level.”

Team Liquid players will be playing and streaming on Alienware computers and Alienware 240hz monitors at MedStar Wizards District Gaming Studio during the qualifier. The Fortnite World Cup will be streamed on Fortnite’s official Twitch channel. The qualifying period lasts a total of 10 weeks and the highest ranked players in each region will advance to the Fortnite World Cup Finals.
