Fredrick Schaufeld

Fredrick D. Schaufeld founded NEW Corp. (now NEW Asurion Corp., where he is currently vice chairman) in 1983 with a $79 investment. NEW Asurion is now the world’s largest consumer product protection company, employing over 13,000 people throughout the globe.

In 2006 Mr. Schaufeld founded SWaN Investors (predecessor to SWaN & Legend) with Tony Nader and Cliff White. Mr. Schaufeld sits on the boards of Fund investments American Honors College (Quad Learning), Anonymous Content, Capital Sports Ventures, CustomInk, KIND, Social Radar and José Andrés Think Food Group. Mr. Schaufeld is an advisor to Allegro Venture Partners and OrderGroove. He is a partner in the Washington Nationals. He was an executive producer of the film “Breakup at a Wedding.”

He and his wife, Karen, live in Virginia and are active in organizations dedicated to early childhood development, literacy, health, environment, peace and the arts. He sits on the boards of a number of nonprofit organizations, including Fight for Children and the One Voice Movement. He is a member of Venture Philanthropy Partners and is an active supporter of the Schaufeld Family Heart Center of the Inova Loudoun Hospital, the Fredrick D. and Karen G. Schaufeld Lower School of Loudoun Country Day School, Leesburg, Va., and the United Way Fredrick D. Schaufeld Scholarship program, Westbury, N.Y. He received his BA in government from Lehigh University.
