Anthony Nader is managing director of SWaN & Legend Venture Partners. SWaN & Legend is a portfolio of widely diversified investments, including growth-oriented companies, startup ventures, domestic and international real estate holdings and the Washington Nationals Baseball Club.
Mr. Nader is vice chairman at Asurion, a company that he successfully merged with his company, NEW, in 2008. He joined the upstart NEW in 1990 as chief operating officer, was named president in 1999 and chief executive officer in 2006. Under his leadership, NEW grew to be the largest global provider of extended service plans for the consumer electronics and appliance industry.
Mr. Nader serves on a number of volunteer and for-profit boards. He is the chairman of the Inova Health System Board of Trustees. He is the past chairman of the Inova Health System Foundation Board where he has served since 2001. He serves on the Board of The Cranemere Group Limited, Optoro Inc., BigTeams, Arlington Asset Investment Corp., DuraTap and MusiCapital. He is a member of Venture Philanthropy Partners, The Economic Club of Washington, D.C., is a past member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and is a current member of YPO Gold (formerly the World Presidents’ Organization). Mr. Nader is a graduate of John Carroll University and holds an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. He and his wife, Annette, have three children.
