Monumental Sports & Entertainment Wins “Best in Show” at the 2017 IES Sales Excellence Awards
Institute for Excellence in Sales Recognizes Company for the Totality of its Overall Sales Program
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 8, 2017) – Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) today announced being selected as the “Best in Show” award winner for the 2017 IES Sales Excellence Awards, which took place in Vienna, VA with over 300 sales and business leaders in attendance. The seventh annual awards event recognizes sales teams and organizations for excellence in sales across four different categories and MSE was recognized for the totality of its overall sales program.
“It’s an honor to be recognized as the Best in Show by the IES Sales Excellence Awards,” said Jim Van Stone, president of business operations and chief commercial officer for Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Having our sales teams receive recognition for their overall sales program across multiple categories is a result of the hard work and effort put in towards incorporating the latest trends and tools used in data, technology, training and development, as well as the incorporation of our partners in innovative ways across all of our brands.”
The overall sales program at Monumental Sports & Entertainment received the award for its efforts across multiple categories. Some of the highlights of the sales program included submitting nominations for Sales Innovation for the streamlining of data collected within the sales process to maximize results; Management & Training for a peer-to-peer mentoring program recognized as an industry wide best-practice by the NBA and the use of a mobile app sales training tool, and Alliance Management/Customer Partnering for extending the global partnership initiatives for Etihad Airways through a collaboration of the NHL’s Hockey is for Everyone program with the Washington Capitals.
Additional winners included Dow Chemical, Softchoice, Dominion Electrical Supply, DELL and Pure Storage. This year marks the first time Monumental Sports & Entertainment has participated in the awards event.
