Monumental Sports & Entertainment Counted Among Finalists for the 2017 IES Sales Excellence Awards in Three Categories
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 20, 2017) – Monumental Sports & Entertainment today announced being selected as a finalist for the 2017 IES Sales Excellence Awards in three categories: Sales Innovation, Management & Training, and Alliance Management/Customer Partnering. The annual awards event recognizes sales teams and organizations for excellence in four different categories. A total of 22 finalists were selected across each category.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment, one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country, which owns and operates five professional sports teams including the Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards, and Verizon Center, led the way for the most nominations by one company.
The company’s sales teams were nominated as finalists for the category of Sales Innovation for the streamlining of data collected within the sales process to maximize results; for the category of Management and Training for a peer-to-peer mentoring program recognized as an industry wide best-practice by the NBA and the use of a mobile app sales training tool; and for the category of Alliance Management/Customer Partnering by extending the global partnership initiatives for Etihad Airways through a collaboration of the NHL’s Hockey is for Everyone program with the Washington Capitals.

The finalists were selected across each category by an independent panel of expert judges in sales and business development. The winners will be announced on June 6th during the IES Awards breakfast gala at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna, Va.
