Lyft Partners with Monumental Sports & Entertainment & Becomes first official rideshare partner of the Capitals, Mystics, Wizards and Verizon Center

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Lyft and Monumental Sports & Entertainment today announced a partnership making Lyft the first official rideshare partner of the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Wizards and Verizon Center. As part of the partnership, central pick-up and drop-off locations will be defined around Verizon Center to provide easy access for transportation to and from the arena.

“We’re excited to partner with Lyft to raise awareness of and provide our fans with the many benefits of using a rideshare company,” said Patrick Duffy, senior vice president of corporate partnerships for Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Fans will now be able to explore another option when traveling to games at Verizon Center.”

Lyft will also receive various experiential, sweepstakes and concourse tabling opportunities during games at Verizon Center.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Monumental Sports & Entertainment and the Washington Capitals, Mystics, Wizards and Verizon Center,” said Stephen Taylor, general manager of Lyft Washington, D.C. “By providing D.C. sports fans with safe and affordable rides to and from Verizon Center, Lyft is contributing to reduced congestion in the area and eliminating the need for fans to drive and park their own vehicles. This partnership also makes it easier for riders to travel responsibly after drinking, and is part of Lyft’s larger contribution to Mayor Bowser’s efforts to increase pedestrian safety and eliminate drunk-driving-related fatalities within D.C.”
