FanPics Partners with Monumental Sports & Entertainment

In-Game Imaging Technology Installed at Verizon Center Will Enhance Fan Experience During Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards Games

Mystics Will Become First WNBA Team to Utilize FanPics

WASHINGTON, D.C. – FanPics and Monumental Sports & Entertainment today announced a partnership that will provide fans with a new, in-game, high-tech and engaging game-day experience for all Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards games at Verizon Center. Fans simply enter their seat number into the free FanPics app, and photos are delivered in real-time to their cellphones where they can instantly share on social media channels.

The in-game imaging technology involves the use of 12 FanPics camera units installed throughout Verizon Center to capture candid moments of every fan during games in real-time. Each FanPics image tells a story by providing a description of the moment alongside curated images of the action on the court and the ice.

High resolution images are then made available via the FanPics free app on Android and iOS for sharing on social media. The Wizards game against the Cavaliers on Feb. 28 is the first game where fans will be able to utilize the technology at Verizon Center. In-game promotions and social media contests will be incorporated throughout the Capitals and Wizards seasons with the FanPics app. The Mystics will become the first WNBA team to utilize the Fanpics technology during the 2016 season.

“FanPics is the perfect partner for combining cutting-edge technology with an engaging fan experience during Capitals, Mystics and Wizards games at Verizon Center,” said Patrick Duffy, senior vice president of corporate partnerships for Monumental Sports & Entertainment. “Mobile technology is at our fans fingertips on a regular basis. So we’re excited to work with FanPics on providing that extra experiential opportunity, while also expanding their reach into the WNBA with the Mystics.”

“Live events deliver many unique and emotional experiences,” said Vincent Crandon, president and CEO of FanPics. “FanPics captures those moments for Capitals, Wizards and Mystics fans at Verizon Center, and delivers them–without charge—in seconds to their mobile devices.”

The FanPics system is roughly the size of a shoebox and is designed to be modular and flexible for ease of installation throughout indoor and outdoor sports venues of any capacity.
